Human Factor IX Purified from Innovative Research has been prepared from human plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 20 mM Tris-HCl/ 0.1 M NaCl/ 1mM Benzamidine/ pH 7.4, and a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis (no reduction when incubated with 2-mercaptoethanol). Factor IX is produced as a zymogen and plays a role in blood coagulation (activated Factor IX is responsible for the activation of Factor X to Xa). Factor IX is inhibited by antithrombin, and Factor IX deficiency causes hemophilia.
