“…Inflammation is a key process in the development of atherosclerosis. Components of both the innate and adaptive immune system contribute significantly to the pathology of atherosclerosis. The connection between these two arms of the immune system is provided by professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs). …For the initiation experiment, female Ldlr-/- mice (n = 11–12/group) were fed a WTD for 6 weeks, while either receiving an i.p. injection of PBS, an appropriate Armenian hamster isotype antibody (Innovative Research, Novi, MI; 100 mg/injection), or a nondepleting agonistic BTLA antibody15 (3C10; 100 mg/injection) twice a week…”
